Thanks for the info Postie, that confirms what I'd assumed and read from 250 owners. If it's anything like my 88 400, it'll be a blast!
Good luck in your search for a 87/88 400/430, they're truly an awesome bike.

The one I have here [ belongs to mate ] was a surprise when ridden.
With the longer stroke and smaller bore i had expected it to rev slower than the 240 but they rev nicely.
1985 WR/400 and 1986 WR/240 , PE 250c , DKW 125mx

I feel it's time to thank Mike52 for the machine work he did on my replacement cases, awesome job!
I now have the bottom end together, a small piston mod and the top end will be fitted.
I'm hoping to have this ready for the Canowindra Vinduro, I think it will be perfect!
