Nice pickup Steve, looks pretty complete and has a disc break upgrade. Grab ADB Oct 1983 for the full test. keep the pics coming.

Bike is a runner ,but  well used ; so complete tear down & rebuild underway very soon for this one . $$$ ::)
Original front drum set up will be going back on  (incl with bike)
Local  bike , was sold new in Aus;  according to previous  owner  ( & has original ADR plate still fitted )

  Very tall , long bike  ...  2str  500cc , 6 spd ?  , 40mm Mikuni  ........
....will be a bit of a hand-full in the tighter trails......but should  go OK in the open stuff ;D  ;D

Regards,
              Steve

A definite step up from the IT490 :) The Husky will do everything the IT can't and plenty more. I was reading the test this arvo, Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant and that 6 speed box works a treat. Can't wait to see and hear the beast in action. Let me know if you need anymore info, parts suppliers etc.
You'll find the Husky very easy to work on and very agricultural but always equipped with the bare minimum to get the job done.

You have best described  what I find appealing about these old Huskys .

Work is underway on the old beast with plenty of bits already ordered from various places.

This place has  a lot of gear : http://www.hva-factory.com/

Ordered  some bits from them today  including  some "nice"  stainless footpegs  (gotta have good controls ;D)

Bike will be not  NOS showpony   but  hopefully a neat &  tidy functional rider.

 Regards;

Did you get a rear brake lever ? You'll need one you can find with your foot ???

Postage is expensive but very quick from them.

May have to consider getting a fancy footbrake lever.......... Plenty  more parts yet to be ordered ::)

Have you fitted one to your mighty 500 auto?

Hopeful to have the bike finished by early June .
Bike will be a  rider .
I try to ride the old bikes with some degree of care /restraint to  hopefully keep them in reasonable condition.
I do expect  a few scrapes  / gouges / chips  etc eventually , no matter how careful.....they are dirt bikes.

Use , have fun  & not abuse too much ; is my line of thought with the old bikes .

Besides ..... I've   got the KTM 300  for bashing around on . ;D

  Regards ,
                   Steve
